Nails of the Day (or Week): Half Moon Mani

I wanted to try and freehand a halfmoon mani, so I used China Glaze Sunset Sail as a base and carefully painted Essie No More Film over it. No More Film is this awesome purple-y blue that I am currently in love with. It is one of those polishes that require only one coat.

I found this bandaid that actually matches my skintone, so it deserved a thumbs up. Papercuts are the worst.

Plaid Cowl

Got this awesome plaid wool blend fabric on sale for only $2.38 a yard!  Usually it's like $15+.  I bought a yard of it with enough leftover to make a jacket for my dog.  I love making these cowl neck "scarves" because they are super easy to make (sewing in straight lines!), long enough to block all the cold air out from your neck and are dual layered so they are super warm.  Plus they are easy to pack in a bag compared to regular scarves.  I think the next time I will make some, I will use two different fabrics so it can be reversible.  And maybe add a pom pom trim just because I want a reason to buy pom pom trim.

My only mistake was not washing the fabric prior to making the scarf.  It smells like fabric store.  Aka kinda musty.  Hopefully it will air out and not smell that way.

I've stopped making new years resolutions,  but I do plan to craft more this year.  I am optimistic that this blog will be updated more.  Lets hope.

Nails of the Day (or Week): Holiday Plaid

I used a shimmery green and topped it with China Glaze Party Hearty (my go-to Christmas glitter) and then for the plaid/lumberjack nails, I used a red creme base and painted lines of various thickness using  black polish with a built in striper brush.  Merry cheesy Christmas!

Halloween Unicorn Costume

I've been wanting to be a unicorn (for Halloween) since forever.  Most of the unicorn costume tutorials are of the "sexy unicorn" variety, but there were some cute (and comfy) Pinterest posts that were inspiring enough for me to make my own costume.

And two weeks later...

I am starting off this blog terribly.  I haven't really picked up a project to start.  I have all these ideas in my head, jumbled and ready to go, but I keep pushing it aside.

So yeah.  I'm so sorry, craft blog.

I will try to craft something soon because this is pathetic.

Back to Blog

I haven't blogged in forever, but was recently inspired to start up something just to keep track of my crafting projects rather than mixing it up with random posts on my tumblr and instagram.  I can't find anything on there.  This blog will be strictly for crafting, and just for me to track my creativity and hopefully inspire more creativity and thus begin my upward spiral (is this a thing?) of creative awesomeness.  :::pumps fist in the air:::  I'm making it for me, but if you happen to read it its okay,  I'm not selfish.  Maybe I'll finish a project rather than leaving it midway.  Maybe I'll finish that afghan within a year.  Hey, maybe I'll finally get around to making those curtains for the kitchen.  Maybe I'll finally figure out how to make a well-crafted pep flag.  Maybe.  Time will only tell.  Let's step up my crafting game, shall we? 1-2-3 GO!
(If I don't blog within two weeks after I make this post, I'm so sorry.)
